To Whom It May Concern,

This is an announcement to let the community know that DeafHope is will close today 3pm. Due to the demonstration that will take place today at 4:00 PM, all county buildings in Oakland will be closed.  DeafHope is located in Family Justice Center building, which is a county building.  Entire DeafHope staff has been asked to leave.  The demonstration has to do with the police shooting of the unarmed man at the BART station last New Year’s Eve.  The demonstration will be on Broadway and continuing to 14thstreet.  If you have an appointment this afternoon, your advocate will work with you to reschedule.

DeafHope’s Board meeting tonight will either be relocated or cancelled. We will keep you posted.

On Thursday, January 15th at 8:30 AM, DeafHope office will open again.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
